I Got My Winterspring Frostsaber!

After 20 days of dailies from my Winterspring Cub, today I got my mount, finally! I figured I should do a post about the quest involved to get this mount.

First off though here is a picture of the mount:

In order to do these dailies the first thing you need to go is get to Winterspring which is located in Kalimador. From there you must visit Frostsaber Rock and speak to Rivern Frostwind.

Quest 1 - Get Them While They're Young
This quest is simple, you just go around Frostsaber Rock to where there are dens or you see cubs and get them. To aid you in this quest you will notice a bag icon appear on your mouse when picking up the cubs. You need 8 in total and if your high level this should be a very quick quest.

Quest 2 - They Grow Up So Fast
You will get a small cub that you can summon. The cub will give you some daily quest. Before we get into the cub quest this second quest is the quest that will give you the Reins of the Winterspring Frostsaber.

In order do complete this quest you need the following:

~ 20 Winterspring Cub Whiskers
~ 20 Runecloth
~ 20 Rugged Leather
~ 80 Gold

If you don't have a lot of money to spend but have toons that can make this type of leather go that route. Now if your level 85 doing this quest gold shouldn't be an issue at all really.

When you summon your cub you will get some quest which give you the whiskers you need. Because you need 20 whiskers to complete the quest it will take 20 days to complete the quest, so if you forget to log in or do a daily for that day it will take longer. Everyday you need to do the daily to get a whisker.

There are not many quest, in total the cub has 4 dailies to give you. So you will end up repeating dailies a lot. The dailies are:

  1. Cub's First Toy
  2. A Cub's Cravings
  3. 'Borrowing' From The Winterfall
  4. Hunting Practice
Each quest is very easy to do and all the questing is done in Winterspring so you don't need to worry about traveling very far. The only concern you may have is how you will get to Winterspring everyday, but that shouldn't be to hard to figure out. Doing these dailies won't be a total waste of time, you will get your whisker and gold with each daily.

Cub's First Toy
"Obtain a Tough Yeti Hide from any Ice Thistle Yeti and 5 Wildkin feathers. Combine them to make a Winterspring Cat Toy and use it to play with your Winterspring Cub. "

This quest is simple and shouldn't take long to complete, you only need to take down one yeti to get the yeti hide. To get the Wildkin feathers you can visit the Owl Wing Thicket.

A Cub's Cravings
"Gather 6 pieces of Shardtooth Meat from any of the Shardtooth bears in Winterspring and feed them to your Winterspring Cub. "

This is another easy quest, I beleive you can kill any of the shardtooth bears in Winterspring to collect the meat needed.

'Borrowing' From The Winterfall
"Obtain 6 pieces of Smoked Meat from either Winterfall furbolg camp in Winterspring and feed them to your Winterspring Cub. "

You can go to Winterfall Village which is right beside Everlook to do this quest. There are racks of meat all around the camp you simple click to collect the meat. Most days I did this quest I didn't have to take down any Winterfall, it was very easy.

Hunting Practice
"Bring your cub near snow-covered burrows in northern Winterspring 5 times to help it learn how to hunt arctic hares."

For some reason I was only able to do this quest once. It is easy though. All I did was walked over where the shiny spot was in the snow and your pet does the rest.

Anyhow that was a quick not so long detail of the quest. Just remember by keeping your "Track Quest" function on this will take you to each quest and make it 10 times easier in the long run.

The mount is low level looking but I love cat's so I had to have it for my mage!

World of Warcraft, Low Level Gold Before Level 20, Part 4

A lot has happened since our last video. I did all the questing in Westfall. I have to say that Westfall has changed a lot in regards to its quest line. And this was my first time seeing that they killed off Old Blanchy! Seriously although the new storyline is well put together for the quest line it is sad. After my quest chain for discovering who killed Blanchy and the owners, I got a nice staff at the end of the quest chain though:

This is just a picture of the auctions that went up before I got a chance to make my last video:

After I completed Westfall I moved on to Stormwind to place auctions you see above. I visited my mage trainer and then headed on to Redridge Mountains.

During one of my quest in Redridge I came across a rare spider named "Chatter" He was literally RIGHT there, not hidden and close to the road which was funny. So anyways I killed him that the picture below shows how he looks and the item I got from killing him.

The Redridge questing zone is not to bad, I quickly was able to get my character to level 20 and I am not even done the zone yet. Now that my character is level 20 though its time to head back to Stormwind and get ready to buy my first mount!

You can view the video below,

Alright, so as stated in the video at this point I may not have any more videos for this character, it was just an experiment to show others how to get gold at a low level and get their first mount without hassle.

You will also notice by choosing mining and skinning I was able to exceed the amount needed to buy my first mount.

I hope everyone enjoyed my video series and please feel free to leave comments on my youtube videos and on my blog.

World of Warcraft, Low Level Gold Before Level 20, Part 3

In this video we will find my toon in the Dwarven District of Stormwind. Since hes a miner this is an excellent spot now that there is an auction house.

My character is up to level 13 now, I got some questing completed and he has started in Westfall. Out of the little bit of time I have leveled this toon I have done no farming yet. All of the gold that he has and will make is from mining when hes by a mine or killing an animal that is part of a quest.

It might be surprising but it all can add up very fast.

Here is my video below of my toon checking the auction house and putting up new auctions.

Low Level Gold Farming, Videos Of My Auctions

Yesterday I posted about a new character I had made on a server with no other toons or any gold. Just to show people how they can get gold to buy their first ground mount. I uploaded 2 videos to youtube. The first video shows my toon in Stormwind putting up his first auction and my second video was me just checking my auctions and putting up some more.

You can see both videos below:

So as you can see my character doesn't have a gold yet, but he is level 10 and on his way to his first gold =)

Stay tuned because there will be more to come about this toon, his leveling and gold and first mount.

Low Level Gold Farming, Yeah You Can Get Gold Before Level 20 =)

I have decided just for the sake of it, to show others that it is possible to earn gold at a low level. Not a whole lot of gold, but enough that you can at least by your first mount, by means of farming and using gathering professions.

So what I have done is started a character on a server I have never played on, and from there we will see how it goes. I have not looked into the auction house so I am not sure what the demand is for the professions I want to take. I know the
demand is there, because it is on all servers, some just greater then others.

From the picture below you will see that I have chose a human male, mage with 0 currency. As I quest he will be able to gather copper and silver, but once farming gets played into the role he will have gold.

I have a tip, I want to suggest to newbies. At level 20 we are able to learn our first ground mount. You will need gold for this. So you have 20 levels to work on that.

The tip is: Don't spend money repairing your armor or buying junk from the vendors in your questing zone unless you have to. As you quest your armor will be replaced, and there is no point in repairing unless you die a lot. I say this because when you start making gold you will need silver to put the auctions up. So until you have some gold don't splurge :)

One thing I did not realize is that you can learn professions at level 5 now, so as soon as you are out of your first questing spot you will be able to start making gold!

If you decide to do what I do to make gold then you will have to find a mining trainer and either a skinning or herbalist trainer (whichever you decide) there are guards around that can help you so if your unsure ask them. Personally as a tip I suggest choosing mining and skinning or skinning and herbalist. Mining and herb farming both require you to search to find the veins/plants, so it doesn't seem worth having 2 professions that need that. And skinning is great because you will have to kill animals all the time anyways.

Also keep in mind it will cost you some copper to learn your new professions. By level 5 you should have enough to learn your professions. I want to do a video posting my auctions but I guess if that doesn't happen then it will just be shared as a blog post. I got to level 8 I think, maybe 7 and have enough copper to start my first auction, but I am going to wait until tomorrow when I will make a video or post about it.

Anyways hope you all enjoy and stay tuned!

Mining In Arathi Highlands - Results

My auctions finally are complete for my little mining experiment. From my hour of flying around and mining in Arathi Highlands I made $214 Gold. The only thing that didn't sell was 2 of my stacks of Iron Bars. For an hour in a low level zone that is not to bad.

Keep in mind this experiment was done on a character with epic flying, don't let this discourage you from mining in this zone. It still is favorable, especially if you are questing there anyways.

Of course results with vary per player and how over run the zone is with other miners. If there is lots of competition then I stay away and do it another day.

Also keep in mind that depending how fast you can travel around the zone this will also depend on how much you make. An epic flyer is faster then a ground mount.

Anyways more post to come, stay tuned!

Happy Farming =)

Mining In Arathi Highlands

Arathi Highlands use to be a favorite lowbie mining spot to mine and I wanted to see if it still was. I was impressed with the spawn time for mines, up until my last flight around (hardly anything spawned). I also killed 3 lowbie rares and went into caves 6 times or so. I also got 2 blues. One dropped and one was in a Silverbound chest.

Before I get into what I got in total and what not, I will post about the rares for anyone interested.

The first rare I came across was in the cave in Drywhisker Gorge. His name is, Geomancer Flintdigger, you can visit Wowhead to learn more about this rare,
Gromancer Flintdigger

The second rare was Zalas Witherbark, you can find him in a cave in Witherbark Village. You can learn more about him here,
Zalas Witherbark

And the final rare was Nimar the Slayer, this rare is also in Withbark Village. He is on the outside by some trolls dancing, you can find him at a table. Learn more about him here,Nimar the Slayer

These rares were not all that great, but I suggest reading up on them on WoWhead from other players, that way you can see if they are worth killing or not.

Alright so first I will share the non mining stuff I collected. Now during the hour I was in Arathi I only wanted to mine, but when I saw rares I killed them and killed a few other NPCs because they were attacking/in the way. Anyways I got a few pieces of cloth, since this toon doesn't have cloth I will be sending the cloth to my mage and she will sell it, since she has a lot of cloth. I got 7 greens in total and 2 blues. The blues I got were, Ranger Bow and Lil Timmy's Peashooter. The bow dropped off a random troll in Witherbark Village and the Peakshooter was in a chest.

Now for the mining items.

~ 1 Shadowgem
~ 1 Lesser Moonstone
~ 4 Jade
~ 2 Aquamarine
~ 27 Silver
~ 27 Mithril
~ 30 Tin
~ 8 Gold
~ 93 Iron
~ 28 Coarse Stone
~ 107 Heavy Stone
~ 47 Solid Stone

Today was a good day to choose lowbie mines. I just put up a lot of the items on the AH. The greens will be going to my mage for disenchanting, and the mining stuff that is not equal to making a stack will be saved for another time. Once the auctions are completed I will make a new post about the results. I timed it and kept track of anything of importance. So we shall see how much I make from the hour of farming. My auctions are up for 48 hours, so we shall see what happens. Once everything sells (or is returned) in the 48 hours I will make a new post about it!

Happy Farming =)

Panther Cub Quest

To start the quest chain for the Panther Cub in STV you need to first visit Bwemba, she can be found at the Stormwind Harbor. View picture below,

You can pickup 2 quest from Bwemba. The quest for the Panther Cub chain starts at "To Fort Livingston" Go to STV and once there you just need to fly to Fort Livingston and speak to Livingston Marshal.

The quest chain goes as follows:
1) To Fort Livingston
2) Serpents And Poison
3) Nesingwary Will Know
4) Track The Tracker
5) The Hunter's Revenge
6) Follow That Cat
7) Mauti
8) How's The Hunter Holding Up?
9) Bury Me With Me Boots...
10) Some Good Will Come

After you bury Grent Direhammer, a quest pops up from the Panther Cub in the cave, this quest gives you the cub. Easy as that.

All of these are easy and a level 85 should have no problem completing them all in maybe an hour at most, I think the quest probably wouldn't take that long though. I was going to list how to do each quest but they are so easy that you really shouldn't need a walk through. However, if anyone is having issues with the quest I am going to link all the quest from Wowhead. Enjoy! :)

To Fort Livingston
Serpents And Poison
Nesingwary Will Know
Track The Tracker
The Hunter's Revenge
Follow That Cat
Mauti

Best Spot To Farm Runecloth in Winterpspring

Now that I am doing the quest for the Winterspring Frostsaber I have spent a good 2 hours messing around Winterspring today. I decided to just randomly choose 4 spots to see how much runecloth I could get. So here is the detail of each spot.

I started off at Lake Kel'Theril, I didn't bother keeping track of cloth because out of 20 kills I only got 5 if that. Not much dropped and it was not worthwhile for me at all.

The second area I chose was, Owl Wing Thicket. I killed some moontouched owl and bersker owls. Again I killed 20 in total and got 6 runecloth, not much better then Lake Kel'Theril. At one point I killed 9 owls and nothing dropped for cloth. To me this was not a worth it area either. However these owls do drop Giant Eggs, so if you need those then farming these owls could be a good idea.

The third spot I chose was, Ice Thistle Hills. I killed a lot of yetis on the outside just wandering in the snow. After 20 kills there I got roughly 10 runecloths. I discovered a cave with Ice Thistle Partriach and Ice Thisle Matrirach (spelling might be off?) These guys had a decent drop rate in the cave and
they were slightly higher level. I didn't keep track of what I killed but I would estimate 35 kills, some were re kills on the way out, however I got 17 runecloth which is not bad. Plus in the cave I counted 7 small Thorium Veins. My mage can't mine but this could be a good spot for a miner!

The last spot I chose was Winterfall Village. I chose here for I could get 20 rep per kill, not to bad. I only got 7 runecloth out of 20 kills though. However though I did find a rare in the village that dropped an item worth 2 gold. I also got Winterfall Spirit Beads which can be passed into Salfa in Winterspring. Upon passing in 5 beads I beleive you get 3650 rep xp with Timbermaw Hold.

Each spot has its own advantage when it comes to farming for runecloth. You got your Giant Eggs in the Owl Wing Thicket, and Winterfall Spirit Beads from Winterfall Village. These 2 spots are great for those reasons but I feel the gave in ice Thisle Hills is the best spot in Winterspring to farm runecloth. Plus if your a skinner you can skin those yetis!

I am Back!

It has been such a long time since I have posted to this blog, I am not willing to scrap it though. I am sorry for not being around, I was not playing WoW for a long time. I have a newer comp, but graphics are not where they need to be. I guess that is life though.

I have been between jobs and such, so due to that I also was not playing WoW as much. I think the first thing that bought me back was the fact I chose today to log in and I saw an adorable Winterspring cub! I wanted one but found out you have to do the quest to get it. So on my mage who is level 85 now, I took her to Winterspring to start the quest. Along the way I saw a rare, Stan-Rotam. I was clueless and killed him not realizing he didn't drop anything of value.

Here is what he looks like, seeing as I was level 85 I could one shot him down. I hopefully will be writing down a ton of information about the quest to get the Winterspring mount. I guess we shall see what happens! Anyways Just wanted to not I am back, and will have some new content shortly! :)
